16th Annual Weinman Award Co-Recipients
Aaron Ciechanover, M.D., DSc. and Avram Hershko, M.D., Ph.D. are co-honored for their discovery that tagging protein substrates with ubiquitin targets them for degradation. Based on their discovery, several successful drugs have been developed. They received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2004.
